How Michael lost 13kg

  • Michael commenced coaching and personal training with me in around August 2017. He aspired to drop some kg’s and was finding small tasks he previously achieved with ease, difficult.

    As it was so close to the beginning of a new Challenge term, I recommended that this was a great opportunity for him to move forward. It would give him added value for his money and the support of a group environment.

    As I suspected, Michael thrived in the 11 weeks of Term four with the group. He came out with awesome results, winning the final term of the I got this Challenge for 2017.

    Michael was consistent in his training and made great strides by removing himself from temptation where and when he could.

    Michael answered some questions for me, to help inspire others who can relate to Michael to take action towards a healthier 2018.

    Q. Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

    I’m 40 years old with a fantastic wife and the most gorgeous 8 year old daughter.

    Q. What do you do for fun?

    I love watching sport and I love the psychology of sporting contests so I enjoy watching great sporting battles.

    Q. What is your number 1 health/fitness goal?

    My goal for fitness is to be able to enjoy being in the outdoors and to feel that my body is in a condition that is able to complete what my mind wants it to achieve.

    Q. What are your three biggest challenges right now?

    Consistency and persistence.

    Accepting that I am not a young man any more and that I can’t out train all my bad eating/drinking habits.

    Coming to terms with the fact that I’m not physically able to achieve what “I used to be able to do.” 

    Q. What keeps you up at night when you think of your health and fitness?

    Will I be able to maintain the gains that I’ve achieved.

    Q. Where do you see opportunities right now for improving your health and fitness?

    Flexibility!! My body will not reach, stretch or move where I want it to go.  

    Q. How do you see yourself in 12 months time?

    Wrestling with the juggle of work, family, love, life and my own goals but with the knowledge that I can do it.

    Q. How much weight have you lost since training with Rischelle?

    Michael: 13 kg

    Q. What do you feel are your biggest achievements since you started training with Rischelle?

    Being able to start the day with a positive note which gets me through the day without the need for a drink at the end of the day.

    Q. What motivates you?

    I love the feel of having been active.    

    Q.  What is your favourite type of training?

    I love Olympic weightlifting.

    Q. What do you enjoy about training with Rischelle and being a part of the challenge

    Supportive, challenging without being aggressive or competitive.

    Q. How have your friends and family reacted to your weight loss?

    Most are shocked and happy for me.

     Q. What’s your advice to other people feeling stuck, needing change and wanting to lose weight/increase their fitness?

    Find someone to help and keep you accountable. It’s not really what you do, it’s just that you do it and do it regularly.

    Q. Why would you recommend training with Rischelle to others?

    She is non-judgemental, but with honesty and compassion for your best interests.

    Michael was the first male winner of the ‘I got this’ Challenge at Bicentennial Park, Woody Point. It’s great to see more men training outdoors and more and more couples making an appearance also. I hope Michael’s win encourages more men to brave my Challenges and Bootcamps.
